York Traditions Life at YorkHigherCommencement These graduation ceremonies are held in the winter and spring and stage when to 1874, making it the oldest campus tradition. Kente Service A trappy Kente service is held for upcoming graduates through our Intercultural Student Life and Global Programming Office. A fabric native to Ghana, kente is a visual representation of the wearer's history, philosophy, ethics, oral literature, religious beliefs, social values and political thoughts.
